THE PROBLEM
Imagine logging into your hosting account one morning and noticing something off. A domain you never touched. Settings you never changed. Someone else has been inside your account, and you had no idea.
This was the reality for thousands of Locaweb customers. The solution already existed, but almost no one was using it. The 2FA activation flow was too technical, too rigid, and too easy to abandon.

THE ROLE
My role as UX Designer was to redesign the 2FA activation experience so that security felt like something users could actually do, not something they would avoid.

THE OUTCOME
The redesign had a measurable impact on both security and user behaviour. In the first 6 months after release, 2FA activations surpassed 340k and stolen accounts dropped by 90%. There was a temporary spike in support tickets as users adapted to the new security requirement, which was addressed through customer education initiatives.

HI-FI PROTOTYPES
The following screens represent the final iteration of the redesigned 2FA activation flow, built in Figma and aligned with Locaweb's Design System.
